Oliver Paipoonge is the home of two historical museums that showcase the knowledge and artifacts of the past making history fun to learn. The Duke Hunt Historical Museum and Founders' Museum & Pioneer Village both have very interesting stories to tell preserving the history of our community and region. The Duke Hunt Historical Museum Come explore the history of Slate River Valley; sit in a replica turn of the century school room, meet the men and women who went to war for us, walk through a vintage historical kitchen equipped with spinning wheel, butter churns and many more kitchen tools, and these are just the beginning.

Founders' Museum & Pioneer Village

Take a walk through the past in this unique Northwestern Ontario Pioneer Village. In your path through time you will see and meet Paterson Pavilion, The Smithy, Williams Carpentry, Community Hall, Farm House, Goodfellow's General Store, S.S. 1 Conmee School, Teacherage, Train Station, Village Church, Village Square, Yard, Print Shop and the Gift Shop.
