NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF AN OFFICIAL PLAN

TAKE NOTICE that on the 15th day of June, 2011 the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge passed By-Law 641-2011 adopting a New Official Plan for the Corporation of the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge, in accordance with Section 17(23) of the Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, c.P. 13, as amended.

Purpose and Effect: the purpose and effect of the Official Plan is to provide goals and policies for the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge, which will guide the decision making by Council on land use matters. The Official Plan will replace the existing Official Plans and all approved amendments, and affects all lands within the Municipality's Municipal Boundary. The policies in the Official Plan contain goals and objectives for future growth and development in the Municipality and provide policies on the various land use designations. The Official Plan will provide the guiding framework and basis for which future development in the Municipality will be considered. Where appropriate, the Plan also provides guidance with respect to social, economic and environmental matters which are relevant to land use matters. The Official Plan for the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge ensures conformity to key pieces of Provincial legislation.

Approval Process: Although the Official Plan has been adopted by Council, it still requires approval from the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing. The new Official Plan will be sent to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing for final approval. The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing may approve, modify, and approve or refuse to approve all or part of the Oliver Paipoonge Official Plan.

Any person is entitled to receive notice of the decision of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (the approval authority) if a written request to be notified of the decision is made to the Ministry. Objections and/or requests for notice of the final decision with respect to the new Official Plan must be directed to:

Additional Information and copies of the new Official Plan will be available for inspection between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday at the Clerks and Municipal Planner's Office at 4569 Oliver Road, Murillo.
